I created step bone cut because I wanted to create styles from Manga that I love. I also don’t really like the shape of my head, haha, so I wanted a hairstyle that worked with the shape of my head to make a beautifying effect. Manga hair styles are very difficult to make with current standard system. I realized that I needed to change that system to realize the styles that I wanted to achieve. Hair cutting system is very difficult to learn. Every day I ask myself, why cant I create my own system to make hair like my vision. I wanted hair to move, I believe that hair is a living thing. Hair cut influences the way hair moves. I wanted to make cuts that give life and movement to hair. Also I want the hair shape to accent the bone structure of the face, in particular Asian face. Asians have a flat face so I wanted to be able to compensate for this and make good frame for all bone structures. Make everyone look like model!
なぜステップボーンカットを作ったのですか？
ステップボーンカットを作ったのは、大好きなマンガのスタイルを作りたかったからです。あと、自分の頭の形があまり好きではないので、頭の形が美しく見えるようなヘアスタイルが欲しかったんです。マンガのヘアスタイルは、今のスタンダードなシステムで作るのはとても難しい。そのシステムを変えないと、自分のやりたいスタイルは実現できないと思いました。ヘアカットのシステムを学ぶのはとても難しい。どうして自分の思い描くようなヘアスタイルを作るために、自分でシステムを作れないのかと自問自答する毎日です。私は髪に動きをつけたかった。髪は生き物だと信じている。カットが髪の動きを左右する。髪に生命と動きを与えるカットをしたかった。また、顔の骨格、特にアジア人の顔の骨格を際立たせるような髪形にしたい。アジア人は平坦な顔立ちなので、それを補い、すべての骨格に適した骨格を作りたかったのです。全員がモデルのように見えるように！
