Q: Do I have to start with the Basic Course？
A: YES. Everyone must start with the Basic Course. The Step Bone Cut is a very unique cutting technique, so you will first need to master the swing form and how to use our scissors via the Basic Certification Course. In the Technical Course, you will learn practical techniques that you can actually use at work. All of the rest of the details can be learned in the Master Certificate Course.
Q: I want to teach what I learned to the staff at my salon.
A: You can start teaching Step Bone Cut courses once you have passed the Masters course. Although you won’t be able to lead exams until you pass the Instructor course, it will be a great way for your staff to improve their skills and give your salon a competitive edge.
Q: Do I have to use the Step Bone Cut scissors and cut mist？
A: Scissors: In order to maintain the high quality of our technique, we require everyone to use the Step Bone Cut scissors and cut mist. Our brand of scissors help eliminate errors and create the perfect cut. Since our cutting technique is so unique, it requires scissors that can adapt to the way in which we cut hair. With these special scissors, you will be able to create designs that make hair light and lively.
A: Cut Mist: At most salons, 95% of stylists apply the base cut to wet hair, and then adjust the hair volume after drying it. We begin by covering hair with our nutrient-dense cut mist and giving it time to penetrate and rejuvenate hair. We then cut and style hair that is easy to manage and cut. An additional benefit is that perms or color can be applied without drying.
